What data can be transferred across?
We can transfer across product information (descriptions, images, pricing, variations), customers (name, address, email, telephone) and product categories (descriptions, images).
Unfortunately we can't transfer order information.
Will you lose your Google rankings?
No. Where possible we will always try and retain your product and category URLs so that there isn’t any change.
If this isn’t possible then we can setup, what are known as, '301 redirects' from each of your product and category pages. These automatically forward, to the new page, search engines and visitors to your website that attempt to visit the old page.
Over time, search engines will ‘drop’ the page with the old URL from the rankings and instead list the page with the new URL meaning that you won't suffer any loss in search engine rankings when switching across.
Can you use your old domain name?
Yes absolutely! Your site will be on a temporary domain name (e.g. yourstore.myshopwired.com) until you’re ready to go live. Once you are ready then we just need to setup your domain to point at our servers.
What will you need?
All you need to switch to ShopWired is an export of your products from your current website to a spreadsheet.
You should be able to get this from your current management system / admin panel.
If you can’t get a spreadsheet export from your current system then we may still be able to get your product information direct from your website’s database. If you can’t get an export please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll talk through how we can get this.
How is it done?
Once you have the export we’ll then need to reformat it so that it can be imported into ShopWired. This is something we can do for you.
How much does it cost?
The switching service is provided free of charge. You’ll need to sign up for a paid account first (so not be in a free trial), but once you do just email your product, category and/or customer export to email@example.com.
